Fake Or Real?

“Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

Isaiah 59:1-3

I was speaking to a dear brother, and we were discussing how comfortable we get as Christians . We get complacent and in many instances we become lukewarm. We get to a state where we are resting, and we don’t want to be bothered with reaching the world or helping other brother and sisters in the faith. We get comfortable in our sin, and then we wonder why does not hear our prayers. We speak a good game but our hearts are far from the Lord. We look good on Sunday dressed in our Sunday best with our big Bible, but on Monday we act like we have never stepped foot in a church. We lack biblical character and our hands, lips and tongue betray that we even have a relationship with God. Galatians 6:7-9 states, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

Are you trying to deceive God knowing that He is not mocked? Do you realize that you will reap what you sow? Are you dealing with the sins of your life or are you brushing them off? A suit or nice dress on Sunday does not equate to a right relationship with Him. In going through my FTL book God has revealed the layers of iniquity that I have become comfortable with. He has given me verses that fight against that comfortableness, and a support group to which I am accountable.  God is always ready to forgive, and His arms open wide ready to welcome but we must get real about our sin.  Are you playing Christian or are you living a life that is pleasing to Him ? Your co-workers and family know parts of the real you, so just think what your Heavenly Father knows as He looks at your heart and knows all.

The decision is yours my friend? Will you deal with what God has brought to your attention or will you seek to brush it under the rug? Numbers 32:23 states, “But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.” Sin will always come to light and there will be a price to pay that you are not ready to pay. A life that is lived for this world will not mean anything, but a life that is lived for God will hold eternal value. Life is short and the time is now to get real with Him as He will always be real with you.
